PI KAPPA ALPHA
Omicron Alumni Association, University of Richmond

How the Re-Charter Came to Be
Beginnings

The journey back to campus began at an initial meeting to fully engage all parties, including Pi Kappa Alpha National, representatives from the University of Richmond, and Omicron Alumni. They met at Lemaire in the Jefferson Hotel to discuss a possible return of Omicron to the campus of the University. Whit Day, Chuck Saunders, Jim Housman, Larry Terry and Jan Ennis represented our alumni group at this all important first meeting.
Later, Pi Kappa Alpha National agreed to meet with our alumni brothers at a casual lunch on campus on February 19. Justin Buck (CEO of Pike National) and Graham Jewell (Directory of Expansion) advised our brothers in attendance that National has seen the strength of our Alumni Association and was now fully prepared to support and promote our efforts to rejoin the University of Richmond as OMICRON. Justin stated that it was rare indeed that a dormant chapter would have such an active and organized alumni.

At that point, we began a formal dialogue regarding our re-charter desires and found out how long the process was and what might be involved. As a result, we were pleased and proud to announce that Pi Kappa Alpha OMICRON was RE-CHARTERED on the campus of the University of Richmond! President Hallock called the Board himself to tell us the great news.
This accomplishment is due to the hard work of many Omicron alumni over the eight years prior, including the current OAA (Omicron Alumni Association Board) and Pi Kappa Alpha National. The process started formally the Spring semester of 2023 and was headed by a team from the National Fraternity.
