The First Re-Chartered Class
Omicron Returns to the University of Richmond in Style
After an 18-year absence, the Omicron Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha celebrated its return to the University of Richmond with an evening worthy of the occasion.
On April 19, 2024, 45 newly initiated brothers gathered in tuxedos at Dover Hall, the premier Goochland County venue owned by Pi Kappa Alpha brother Chad Hornick, to celebrate the reestablishment of the Omicron Chapter. The new brotherhood represents an accomplished and diverse group of musicians, athletes, scholars, and campus leaders united by a commitment to leadership, character, service, and lifelong brotherhood.

The chapter’s return marked a significant new beginning for Pi Kappa Alpha at Richmond. After being absent from campus since 2006, Omicron returned with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to building a chapter that will make both the University and generations of alumni proud.
Initiation ceremonies were held in Cannon Memorial Chapel on the University of Richmond campus and led by Expansion Director Zach Brown, Chapter Consultant Gabe Gallo, and Joshua Ronk, Director of the Pi Kappa Alpha Historical Society.
The celebration continued Friday evening at Dover Hall, where more than 150 brothers, dates, parents, University Greek Life representatives, alumni, and distinguished guests filled the venue to capacity.
Among the evening’s speakers was Pi Kappa Alpha International President Chris Peterson, who delivered an inspirational keynote address. Remarks were also offered by Zach Brown; Jan Ennis, a founding father of the Omicron Alumni Association; and Jonathan Garner, president of the newly reestablished Omicron Chapter. Chapter Advisor Larry Terry served as master of ceremonies.
For many alumni who have remained connected to Omicron through the years, the evening was a turning point. Rechartering marked both the return of our beloved fraternity to campus and the beginning of a new chapter. A renewed chapter that honors Omicron’s history while giving a new generation of brothers the opportunity to build a legacy of their own. Today, the Omicron Chapter stands second in size among all fraternities on campus, recently having been named "chapter of the year" and winning several campus recognitions from the University of Richmond. The future is bright for the Omicron Chapter!
